Texas Instruments India WiSH Program Records 33% Rise in Registrations for Semiconductor Careers
Texas Instruments (TI) India has concluded the fifth edition of its Women in Semiconductors and Hardware (WiSH) program, an initiative focused on women engineering students in semiconductors, hardware, and embedded systems.
The program provides participants with hands-on experiments, technical simulations, lab visits, and engineering projects related to real-world semiconductor applications and product development workflows. Since its launch five years ago, WiSH has mentored 685 women engineering students through guidance from TI engineers and facilitated more than 300 internship opportunities.
The 2026 edition saw a 33% increase in registrations, with close to 2,600 applications received in the prior year.
“At Texas Instruments, we believe early exposure to industry and mentorship can play an important role in shaping future engineers. While women account for 43% of STEM graduates in India, one of the highest rates globally, they continue to be underrepresented in technical roles,” said Arbab Kausar, HR director, Texas Instruments India. “Over the past five years, the WiSH program has helped women engineering students gain practical skills in semiconductor and hardware engineering while building their technical capabilities.
