Valeo Wins Contract for VSS360 ADAS System Deployment in Indian Commercial Vehicles

Valeo announced that one of India’s leading OEMs has selected its Valeo Smart Safety 360 (VSS360) system to provide advanced driver assistance functions for commercial vehicles. The VSS360 is a cost-optimized, scalable 1-box ADAS solution with radar fusion integrated in the smart front camera. It will be manufactured at Valeo’s facility in Sanand, Gujarat, and this version has been designed specifically for the Indian market.

The system includes Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Driver Drowsiness & Attention Warning, Forward Collision Warning, Moving Off Information System for pedestrian and cyclist protection during pull-away, and Blind Spot Information System. It supports seamless over-the-air software updates and uses 3 radars and one Univolt Camera that operates across both 12V and 24V architectures. This configuration enables deployment across Light Commercial Vehicles (LCVs) to Heavy Duty trucks.

The VSS360 meets upcoming General Safety Regulation requirements, including features to reduce road accidents caused by driver fatigue. It was developed with state-of-the-art computer vision technology and is tailored to address challenges such as unpredictable traffic conditions in India.
