Beyond NVIDIA’s GPU Rat Race: Tenstorrent’s Generalized, Open-Source, High-Performance AI Era

Are you locked yourself to GPUs from Nvidia and AMD! Turnaround and look at Tenstorrent. It has something better to offer  in many angles for AI computing. RISC V based AI Chip Expert Tenstorrent Showcases Galaxy Supercluster and New Developer Hardware at its recent event TT-Deploy. At the TT-Deploy event, Jim Keller and the Tenstorrent team presented significant advancements in AI hardware and software. Keller opened the session by announcing that the company has begun releasing performance benchmarks, noting a strong position on Artificial Analysis and a pipeline of further benchmark wins ahead.

Tenstorrent is now shipping its Galaxy box in volume production, developed in partnership with Quanta. Thirty-six of these Galaxy boxes have been interconnected to create Supercluster 36, which operates as one seamless computer. The Blackhole accelerator chip that powers the system, developed with a partner, has reached A0 silicon production. Keller also introduced a new quiet developer box, designed after early feedback highlighted noise issues with previous versions. The updated water-cooled unit is smaller, offers 128 GB of memory, delivers solid AI performance, and can run any model quietly enough for home or office use.
