Marine Electricals Secures Rs 115 Crore LT Boards Order for Tata Dholera Semiconductor Fab

Mumbai based Marine Electricals bags orders totaling Rs 115 crore, excluding taxes, from Larsen & Toubro (L&T). The orders cover the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of LT boards and branch panels for Tata Semiconductor Manufacturing’s semiconductor fabrication facility at Dholera in Gujarat. Delivery of the equipment is scheduled for completion over an 18-month period.

With a never seen growth of semiconductor demand in India, Government’s India Semiconductor Mission and Production Linked Incentive scheme are driving domestic wafer fabrication capacity, with Tata Electronics’ Dholera project forming a central element. The facility, developed in partnership with Taiwan’s Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation, carries an investment of approximately Rs 91,000 crore and targets initial commercial production of chips.

Semiconductor fab construction places stringent demands on electrical infrastructure. Facilities require uninterrupted, stable power distribution to maintain cleanroom environments, process tools and ancillary systems; even momentary outages can cause substantial yield losses. Reliable low-tension electrical networks, including LT boards and branch panels, are therefore integral to the power delivery architecture. Industry reports highlight power reliability, water supply and overall infrastru...
