Valeo inaugurated a new high-definition surround-view camera production line on April 3, 2026, at its Sanand facility in Gujarat. The inauguration was led by Marc Vrecko, CEO of Valeo Brain Division. The new assembly line is dedicated to high-volume manufacturing of next-generation vision camera systems for major original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in India. These camera systems are intended to support driver assistance functions, contribute to road safety, and address demand for autonomous and semi-autonomous driving technologies.
The Sanand facility is also planned to serve as a multi-technology hub, incorporating scalable production of advanced automotive displays and telematics control units to meet requirements for digital cockpit and connected vehicle solutions.
Marc Vrecko stated: “The inauguration of this new camera line at our Sanand facility is a proud moment for our team and a proof to our dedication to the Indian market. By localizing the production of these highly complex, advanced vision systems, we are not only streamlining our supply chain but also accelerating the delivery of world-class safety technologies to our partners.”
Jayakumar G, Group President & Managing Director of Valeo India, stated: “We are scaling our product portfolio in Sanand, India. This investment in a state of the art surround-view camera line underscores our commitment to localizing high-tech solutions. It strengthens our ADAS manufacturing capabilities and R&D and ensures we continue to meet our customers’ evolving needs.”
High-volume hardware manufacturing for the vision systems will occur at the Sanand facility, while the associated advanced software and intelligence are developed at Valeo’s R&D hub in Chennai.
The facility will also handle manufacturing of critical components for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Advanced Rider Assistance Systems (ARAS). India is listed as a priority market in Valeo’s ‘Elevate 2028’ strategic plan. The company is combining localized high-volume manufacturing with regional R&D efforts at the site.
