d-Matrix Acquires GigaIO Data Center Business to Expand Rack-Scale AI Inference Infrastructure
d-Matrix announced the acquisition of GigaIO’s data center business, a systems engineering organization specializing in rack-scale infrastructure and high-performance interconnects.
The transaction builds on a collaboration that began in 2025 and expands d-Matrix’s capabilities for system-level deployments. It adds to the company’s end-to-end AI inference platform, which includes Corsair inference accelerators, JetStream networking, Aviator software, and the d-Matrix SquadRack rack-scale reference architecture developed in collaboration with Broadcom and Arista.
GigaIO, Inc. will remain an independent company focused on edge computing. d-Matrix has acquired the core data center technologies, including SuperNODE and the FabreX PCIe-based memory fabric, to support its system-level infrastructure roadmap.
“Inference is bigger than any one chip. It’s now a systems problem,” said Sid Sheth, founder and CEO of d-Matrix. “To keep up with surging AI demand, frontier labs and other power users are dividing workloads into smaller tasks, disaggregated across CPUs, GPUs, and inference accelerators, with each processor handling a different part of the problem. That means data must move efficiently across chips, nodes, racks, and entire data centers in real time. This acquisition accelerates our ability to deliver infrastructu...
