ECMS Expansion: 29 Fresh Approvals Worth Rs 7,104 Crore Expected to Create 14,246 Direct Jobs in India

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has approved 29 additional proposals under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), following the earlier clearance of 46 applications involving Rs 54,567 crore. The latest approvals carry a projected investment of Rs 7,104 crore and are expected to generate projected production worth Rs 84,515 crore along with 14,246 direct employment opportunities.

These approvals cover manufacturing of 16 products with applications across mobile manufacturing, telecom, consumer electronics, strategic electronics, automotive, and IT hardware sectors. The product categories include:

- 1 sub-assembly: Display Modules
- 11 bare components: Antennas, Capacitors, Connectors, Heat Sinks, Li-ion Cells, Relays, Resistors, Transducers, SMD Passives, Flexible PCB, and Inductors
- 3 supply chain items: Laminates, Metallized films for Capacitors, and Rare Earth Permanent Magnets
- Capital Goods and their parts

Notable first-of-their-kind projects among the approvals are the country’s first SMD passive plant for Tantalum-based capacitors, the first Flexible PCB plant, and the first Rare Earth Permanent Magnet facility.

Approvals in the sub-assembly category for Display Modules were granted to Dixon Display Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and Wangda Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
