IISc's CeNSE and Groww Foundation Launch Semiconductor Skill Development Program Targeting Women and Young Students

The Centre for Nano Science and Engineering (CeNSE) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) has partnered with the Groww Foundation to launch the Groww Foundation – CeNSE Semiconductor Skill Development Program. The initiative aims to strengthen India’s semiconductor talent pipeline and increase participation by women and young students in STEM fields, particularly micro- and nanotechnology.

The program, running under the Groww Scholar Program developed by Groww Foundation, will support a total of 160 beneficiaries over the next three years. It consists of three specific initiatives led by Dr. Dhavala Suri, Assistant Professor at CeNSE.

The first is Akanksha – STEM for Girls, which provides meritorious school students with exposure to micro- and nanotechnology research through visits to CeNSE laboratories and interactions with researchers.

The second is the Women in STEM – Research Experience Program, offering hands-on, faculty-mentored research opportunities for female students in semiconductor science and nanotechnology. Participants will work with researchers at CeNSE using state-of-the-art facilities, gaining experience in experimental techniques, device fabrication, and interdisciplinary research.

The third is the Research Internship Program, which delivers practical training in semiconductor fabrication for students...
