Valeo and Hero MotoCorp Sign MoU to Co-Develop ARAS for Two-Wheelers at CES 2026

Valeo and Hero MotoCorp signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the co-development of Advanced Rider Assistance Systems (ARAS) for motorcycles and scooters.

The announcement was made in Las Vegas and New Delhi, coinciding with the ongoing CES 2026 event where the companies are presenting ARAS concepts and technologies through an innovative display. This includes demonstrations focused on intelligent rider safety solutions for two-wheelers, such as next-generation electric scooters under Hero MotoCorp's VIDA electric mobility portfolio.

The partnership targets both entry-level and premium segments, covering internal combustion and electric two-wheelers. It centers on integrating Valeo’s radar and smart camera technologies to provide sensing, perception, and intelligent features aimed at enhancing rider safety.

The ARAS platform is designed to function as a digital co-pilot, establishing a 360-degree safety envelope around the vehicle. It addresses urban traffic conditions, mixed road usage, and interactions with vulnerable road users through real-time sensing and intelligent alerts.

Specific features from Valeo’s radar-based system include Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Distance Warning (DW), Lane Change Assist (LCA), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), and Rear Collision Warning (RCW).
