Mixx Technologies Appoints Former Broadcom Executive BC Ooi to Board Amid Co-Packaged Optics Push for AI Infrastructure

Mixx Technologies, a company focused on silicon-integrated optical connectivity for AI infrastructure, announced on December 10, 2025, the appointment of Boon Chye (BC) Ooi to its Board of Directors. Ooi, a semiconductor executive with over 30 years of experience, previously served as Senior Vice President of Global Operations at Broadcom Inc. (formerly Avago Technologies) for over a decade, where he managed worldwide manufacturing, procurement, and logistics. Before Broadcom, Ooi held senior roles at Xilinx and Intel.

The appointment follows Mixx's closure of a $33 million oversubscribed Series A funding round, led by ICM HPQC Fund with participation from TDK Ventures, Systemiq Capital, Banpu Innovation & Ventures, G Vision Capital, Ajinomoto Group Ventures, AVITIC Innovation Fund, and other partners. The funds are allocated to product development, expansion of operations, and scaling of R&D centers in the U.S., India, and Taiwan, as well as collaborations with ecosystem partners.

Mixx's HBxIO platform is a silicon-integrated optical engine designed to address data movement constraints in hyperscale AI clusters. The technology incorporates direct-to-ASIC integration, enabling switchless clusters with up to 4x higher port radix compared to copper SerDes-based co-packaged optics (CPO), resulting in flattened network topologies and up to 75% power reducti...
