Semiconductor Revenue Exceeds $200 Billion in Q3 2025 Amid AI and Memory Demand
Research from Omdia indicates that the semiconductor market reached $216.3 billion in revenue during the third quarter of 2025, a 14.5% increase quarter-over-quarter. This represents the first time quarterly revenue has surpassed $200 billion, following an 8% quarter-over-quarter growth in the second quarter.
The third quarter performance exceeded historical seasonal averages of slightly over 7% growth and pre-quarter public guidance of approximately 5% quarter-over-quarter growth. Nearly every semiconductor category outperformed forecasts, with more segments contributing to growth compared to previous quarters.
In 2024, the market surpassed $650 billion in annual revenue with over 20% year-over-year growth, but expansion was concentrated in NVIDIA and memory ICs; excluding those, the rest grew only 1% due to inventory adjustments and soft demand.
For 2025, the market shows broader recovery. Third-quarter revenue grew over 14% quarter-over-quarter overall and over 9% when excluding NVIDIA and memory ICs. Omdia projects full-year 2025 revenue to exceed $800 billion, up nearly 20% from 2024, with approximately 9% growth excluding NVIDIA and memory.
