Virtusa Acquires Bengaluru-Based SmartSoC Solutions to Enter Semiconductor Industry and Build Chip-to-Cloud Capabilities

Virtusa Corporation has acquired SmartSoC Solutions, a Bengaluru-based semiconductor engineering and integrated circuit design services company.

The transaction expands Virtusa’s service portfolio into the semiconductor sector and creates an end-to-end offering that covers the full digital technology stack from chip design to network, cloud, and application layers.

SmartSoC brings expertise in silicon design, verification, and embedded systems engineering. The acquisition adds engineering delivery centres in Bengaluru, Hubli, and Hyderabad, including a tier-2 centre in Hubli, and incorporates more than 1,400 engineers specialised in VLSI, physical design, and embedded software.

Nitesh Banga, Chief Executive Officer of Virtusa, stated that the acquisition establishes the company in the semiconductor engineering space and completes its full-stack service vision from silicon to customer applications. He noted the importance of in-house chip design capabilities amid growing complexity of AI models and increasing global data centre investment.

SmartSoC’s existing leadership team, headed by Founder and Chief Executive Officer Bharath Desareddy, will remain in place. All current project structures, contractual commitments, and service agreements will continue unchanged.
