Global Semiconductor Market to Hit $743B in 2025 as U.S. Reaches 56% Share – China Targets 10% by 2030, Yole Group Reports

Yole Group has published two reports analyzing the 2025 semiconductor landscape: Overview of the Semiconductor Devices Industry – H2 2025 and China Semiconductor Industry 2025.

Global semiconductor device revenues are forecast to reach US$743 billion in 2025, representing a 14% year-over-year increase. In 2024, U.S.-based companies captured 56% of the global market, driven by fabless players supported by advanced-node foundries in Asia. Mainland China is no longer the region with the highest demand for semiconductor devices.

Market segmentation for 2025 remains:
- Logic & processors: 40–50%
- Memory: 20–30%
- Power, analog & discretes: 17–23%
- Optoelectronics & sensors: 12–14%

In Mainland China, foundry capacity now covers 112% of domestic electronics demand and 71% of domestic electronics assembly and test needs. Electronics manufacturing volume stands at 158% of domestic consumption, with approximately one-third of global semiconductor devices incorporated into systems assembled in China.

Yole Group projects that China’s domestic semiconductor device industry will reach approximately 10% of global market share...
