SIA Endorses U.S.-Southeast Asia Trade Pacts Amid Semiconductor Supply Chain Shifts

The Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) issued a statement on October 26, 2025, welcoming U.S. trade deals with Malaysia, Vietnam, and Thailand, which play roles in semiconductor supply chains.

SIA President and CEO John Neuffer stated that Southeast Asia has developed a critical and expanding position in the global semiconductor ecosystem in recent years. The agreements, announced during U.S. President Donald Trump's visit to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit in Kuala Lumpur, introduce certainty and predictability into the global trade and business environment for the semiconductor industry. They also establish a basis for ongoing trade and economic security collaboration.

Neuffer expressed anticipation for collaboration with the Trump Administration to promote global trade initiatives that sustain American semiconductor leadership in the long term.
