Sotomayor joined NXP in 2014 and has held various strategic leadership roles. He became part of the Management Team in 2020 and contributed to the company's strategy focused on intelligent systems at the edge in Automotive and Industrial & IoT markets. Kurt Sievers retired after his tenure.
On October 27, 2025, NXP reported financial results for the third quarter ended September 28, 2025. Revenue reached $3.17 billion, down 2% year-on-year but up 8% quarter-on-quarter from $2.926 billion in Q2 2025 and compared to $3.250 billion in Q3 2024. The results exceeded the midpoint of guidance, with sequential improvement across all regions and end markets.
