GlobalFoundries’ Singapore Fab Joins WEF Global Lighthouse Network for AI-Driven Manufacturing Innovation

GlobalFoundries announced that its 300mm fabrication facility in Singapore has been named to the World Economic Forum’s Global Lighthouse Network, recognizing its use of Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies. The designation highlights the facility’s role in deploying AI, machine learning, IoT, and advanced analytics to transform manufacturing operations across GlobalFoundries’ facilities in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

Since 2020, GlobalFoundries has implemented over 60 smart manufacturing solutions, focusing on AI and machine learning to improve cost, quality, and productivity. The company has also formed partnerships with academia, solution providers, and government agencies to develop digital talent and co-create new solutions. These efforts support engineers transitioning into roles focused on automated, data-driven manufacturing and innovation.

The Singapore fab, part of GlobalFoundries’ AI Centre of Excellence, is advancing Industry 5.0 technologies and building a digital ecosystem through strategic collaborations. The facility contributes to the production of semiconductors for mobile, automotive, and IoT applications.

As a member of the Global Lighthouse Network, GlobalFoundries will collaborate with other sites to share and advance manufacturing innovations.
