Latent AI and Wind River Partner to Enhance Edge AI for Mission-Critical Systems

Latent AI and Wind River, an Aptiv company, announced a collaboration to integrate edge AI capabilities into real-time edge platforms for mission-critical infrastructure. The partnership combines Wind River’s VxWorks, Wind River Linux, and eLxr Pro platforms with Latent AI’s Efficient Inference Platform (LEIP) to enable high-performance, secure, and efficient AI inference at the edge.

The integrated solution supports mission-critical AI operations with secure and certifiable workflows from model training to deployment, targeting environments requiring determinism, reliability, and power efficiency. LEIP compresses AI models up to 10x while maintaining accuracy and supports rapid model updates through its secure MLOps pipeline, enabling adaptability in dynamic scenarios where cloud-based solutions are less effective.

VxWorks, a widely deployed real-time operating system (RTOS), supports Open Container Initiative-compliant containers for rapid deployment of software-defined capabilities. Wind River Linux facilitates development and operation of secure embedded solutions, while eLxr Pro provides commercial support for a Debian-based Linux distribution, addressing cloud-to-edge deployment challenges.

The collaboration builds on Wind River’s prior initiatives with DEEPX, SiMa.ai, and Nota AI to expand its edge AI ecosystem, focusing on hardw...
