Synaptics Showcases AI-Native Edge Processing for Enhanced OTT and Set-Top Box Features at IBC 2025

Synaptics will demonstrate its AI-native processing solutions for set-top boxes (STBs) and over-the-top (OTT) streaming devices at IBC 2025, held from September 12-15 at Hall 1, Stand 1.F72. The demonstrations will highlight how the Astra line of Arm-based MPUs and MCUs, designed for Edge AI applications, enables features such as improved picture and audio quality, parental controls, subtitling, and personalized shopping options.

The Astra portfolio, tailored for the Internet of Things (IoT), supports multimodal inputs including vision, audio, voice, and touch, allowing enhanced viewer interaction with OTT/STB applications. It offers ultra-low-power consumption, contextual AI awareness, reliable wireless connectivity, and built-in security features to protect data privacy. These capabilities enable video service providers to offer content curation, personalized shopping, travel planning, and gaming.

Demonstrations at the event will include AI-based voice biometrics for multi-user personalization without profile selection, applicable for navigation and purchasing.
