AI and 5G Integration: Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Platforms Enhance Mercedes-Benz CLA and GLC at IAA 2025
Qualcomm and Mercedes-Benz AG announced the integration of Snapdragon Digital Chassis solutions into the all-electric Mercedes-Benz CLA and the new electric Mercedes-Benz GLC, showcased at IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich. The vehicles, displayed at the Mercedes-Benz booth in Hall B3 of the Messe Munich Convention Center and the Mercedes-Benz Pavilion in the IAA Open Space at the Apothekenhof, feature the next-generation Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) system powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Platform and Snapdragon Auto 5G Modem-RF solution.
The Snapdragon Cockpit Platform supports multiple high-resolution displays, photorealistic user interfaces, 3D augmented reality navigation, gaming, and AI-driven voice interactions, enhanced by audio processing for dynamic soundscapes and Dolby Atmos spatial audio. The platform uses AI to adapt to user preferences, offering context-aware recommendations and hands-free interactions. Snapdragon Auto Connectivity Platforms provide high-speed 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and global navigation satellite system (GNSS) support, enabling real-time navigation, multimedia, and connected services both inside and around the vehicle. Data from vehicle sensors and cloud services facilitates personalized content and settings for occupants.
