DRAM Market Surges 17.1% in 2Q25, SK hynix Gains Share as Taiwanese Suppliers See Strong Growth

Global DRAM industry revenue reached $31.63 billion in the second quarter of 2025, a 17.1% increase quarter-on-quarter, according to TrendForce. The growth was driven by rising contract prices for conventional DRAM, increased shipments, and higher volumes of high-bandwidth memory (HBM). Stronger procurement from PC OEMs, smartphone manufacturers, and cloud service providers (CSPs) accelerated inventory digestion, pushing contract prices for most DRAM products into positive territory.

SK hynix led the market, achieving a 25.8% revenue increase to $12.23 billion, despite a higher proportion of lower-priced DDR4 shipments limiting average selling price (ASP) growth. The company’s bit shipments exceeded targets, boosting its market share to 38.7% and maintaining its position as the top DRAM supplier.

Samsung, ranking second, saw modest increases in both ASP and bit shipments, with revenue rising 13.7% to $10.35 billion. Its market share, however, declined slightly to 32.7%. Micron, in third place, experienced significant growth in bit shipments but faced ASP pressure due to a higher DDR4 mix. Its revenue grew 5.7% to $6.95 billion, with market share dropping to 22%.
