Qualcomm Appoints AI Expert Jeremy Kolter to Board Amid Push for Intelligent Computing
Qualcomm Incorporated announced the appointment of Jeremy (Zico) Kolter to its Board of Directors, effective immediately, with Kolter serving on the Governance Committee. Kolter is the Professor and Department Head of the Machine Learning Department at Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Computer Science, a position he has held since July 2024. He joined the faculty in 2012 as an Assistant Professor and was an Associate Professor from 2018 to 2024.
Kolter’s research focuses on AI safety, robustness, and optimization. In industry, he serves on the Board of Directors at OpenAI, chairing the Safety and Security Committee since August 2024. He is also the Co-founder and Chief Technical Advisor of Gray Swan AI, an AI security company, and an advisor to BNY. Previously, he was Chief Expert at Robert Bosch and Chief Data Scientist at C3.ai.
Kolter holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Georgetown University, a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
