Lantronix’s TAA-Compliant Edge AI Solution Powers Teal Drones for U.S. Army’s SRR Program

Lantronix has announced that its TAA- and NDAA-compliant solution, utilizing the Qualcomm Dragonwing QRB5165 processor, has been selected by Teal Drones, a Red Cat Holdings company, for the production of Black Widow drones under the U.S. Army’s Short-Range Reconnaissance (SRR) Program. Lantronix has begun production shipments to support the initiative.

The solution provides Edge AI processing while meeting U.S. security requirements for Department of Defense (DoD) missions. As a Blue UAS-approved vendor, Teal Drones adheres to strict cybersecurity, operational, and safety standards, with Lantronix’s technology enabling compliance for frontline deployment.

Jeff Thompson, CEO of Red Cat, stated that the Lantronix solution ensures TAA and NDAA compliance for the SRR Program. Saleel Awsare, CEO and president of Lantronix, noted that the collaboration supports secure, high-performance product development for the drone sector. The global drone market is projected to reach $57.8 billion by 2030, according to Drone Industry Insights’ 2025–2030 Global Drone Market Report.
