Dominican Republic Unveils National Semiconductor Strategy to Join Global Supply Chain

The Dominican Republic is emerging as a promising hub for the semiconductor industry, leveraging its strategic location, economic stability, and proactive government policies to attract global investment. During National Free Zones Day, a day to celebrate and acknowledge the economic contributions of free zones, Dominican Republic's  President Luis Abinader and Minister of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs, Víctor Bisonó, announced the National Strategy for the Promotion of the Semiconductor Industry (ENFIS). The initiative aims to position the Dominican Republic as a hub for advanced manufacturing within the global semiconductor supply chain.

Developed with input from the Dominican Association of Free Zones (ADOZONA), the Association of Foreign Investment Companies (ASIEX), and the Instituto Tecnologico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), ENFIS incorporates expertise from mySilicon Compass, led by former U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce Ian Steff, Auffant Global Advisory, led by Dr. Marino Auffant, MIT’s Industrial Performance Center, Purdue University’s Applied Research Institute, and the OECD.
