SEMIquest Debuts at Arizona Science Center to Engage Students in Semiconductor Careers
On August 12, 2025, the SEMI Foundation, the nonprofit arm of SEMI, announced the launch of SEMIquest, a hands-on STEM experience aimed at connecting Arizona students in grades 7–12 to career opportunities in the semiconductor industry. The initiative will be featured as a pop-up exhibition at the Arizona Science Center from October 1, 2025, to January 4, 2026, with a special showcase on October 9, 2025, during SEMICON West, held in Phoenix for the first time.
SEMIquest aligns with the SEMI Foundation’s efforts to develop a semiconductor workforce through programs like the National Network for Microelectronics Education (NNME), the SEMI Career & Apprenticeship Network (SCAN), and SEMI University (SEMI U). The October 9 event will include a pop-up exhibition on semiconductor applications, Micro:Bit coding workshops, STEM activities, “A Day in the Life” spotlights with industry professionals, guided tours of SEMICON West, and educator training with resources from partners like NXP Semiconductors and Spark Photonics.
The exhibition will also travel across Arizona communities, offering hands-on demonstrations and interactive activities to students, families, and educators. Registration for the event is open but limited. For participation details, contact Perla DeBaggis at pdebaggis@semi.org.
