Apple and Corning Expand Partnership for 100% U.S.-Made iPhone and Apple Watch Cover Glass in Kentucky

Apple and Corning have announced a $2.5 billion investment to produce all cover glass for iPhone and Apple Watch at Corning’s Harrodsburg, Kentucky, facility, marking the first time 100% of this glass will be made in the U.S. for global sales. This initiative is part of Apple’s $600 billion commitment to the U.S. economy over the next four years, including its American Manufacturing Program (AMP) to boost domestic production.

Corning will dedicate the Harrodsburg facility to Apple, establishing the world’s largest smartphone glass production line. This expansion will increase Corning’s manufacturing and engineering workforce in Kentucky by 50%. A new Apple-Corning Innovation Center at the facility will focus on developing advanced materials and next-generation manufacturing platforms for Apple products.

The partnership, ongoing since the 2007 iPhone launch, produces Ceramic Shield glass, known for its durability, at the Harrodsburg plant.
