onsemi announced that select Xiaomi YU7 electric SUV models incorporate an 800V drive platform powered by onsemi’s EliteSiC M3e technology. This platform enables the design of smaller, lighter, and more robust traction systems for electric vehicles.
The integration of onsemi’s EliteSiC M3e technology into the traction inverter enhances performance and power density, reduces system costs, and extends driving range. The technology features the industry’s lowest on-resistance, allowing for higher peak power delivery in a smaller footprint, which supports faster acceleration without compromising efficiency or range.
Simon Keeton, group president of onsemi’s Power Solutions Group, stated that the EliteSiC technology provides efficiency, power density, and thermal performance, supporting the development of electric vehicles with longer range, faster acceleration, and greater reliability. The technology contributes to higher power density, improved thermal performance, and enhanced energy efficiency in next-generation electric vehicles.
