EdgeCortix Secures Series B Funding, Advances AI Innovation with SAKURA-II Integration on Arm Platforms
EdgeCortix, a fabless semiconductor company focused on energy-efficient AI processing at the edge, announced the initial close of its Series B funding round, bringing its total funding to nearly $100 million USD. This includes equity investments and approximately $50 million in non-dilutive government project awards since December 2024. The funding round saw participation from new investors Yanmar Ventures, Pacific Bays Capital, NTT Finance Corporation, SiC Power, and Aero X Ventures, alongside existing investors SBI Investments and Global Hands-On VC.
The capital will support the mass-production of EdgeCortix’s SAKURA-II AI co-processors, which have secured design-wins in robotics, industrial automation, defense, aerospace, and space exploration. It will also fund the development of the SAKURA-X chiplet platform, delivering up to 2,000 TOPS per device for advanced generative AI workloads in high-performance physical AI systems with low power consumption.
On June 3, 2025, EdgeCortix announced the availability of its SAKURA-II M.2 Module on Arm-based platforms, including Raspberry Pi 5 and AETINA’s Rockchip (RK3588) platform.
