Wipro Infrastructure Engineering (WIN), a division of Wipro Enterprises, will invest ₹500 crore to establish India’s first copper-clad laminate (CCL) manufacturing facility in Karnataka, set to begin production in 2026. The plant, under Wipro’s new Electronic Materials division, will produce over six million sheets of CCL and prepreg materials annually, creating approximately 350 jobs.
The facility aims to address India’s complete reliance on imported CCL, serving industries such as telecom, automotive, consumer electronics, and artificial intelligence. Pratik Kumar, CEO of WIN and Managing Director of Wipro Enterprises, stated that the plant aligns with the company’s vision to enhance India’s role in the global electronics technology ecosystem by providing locally produced, high-quality materials to strengthen supply chain resilience.
Neeraj Pandita, Founder and Co-CEO of Wipro Electronic Materials, highlighted that the initiative will bridge a critical supply chain gap, positioning Wipro as a key supplier for global customers and OEMs. The project has received support from the Government of Karnataka and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
Wipro Infrastructure Engineering, with expertise in hydraulics, industrial automation, aerospace, water treatment, additive manufacturing, and now electronic materials, aims to drive innovation in India’s electronics manufacturing sector through this initiative.
