Scanfil and MB Elettronica Merge to Form Major European EMS Player with Global Reach
Finnish electronics manufacturing service (EMS) company Scanfil, the largest European EMS firm listed on a stock exchange by turnover, and Italian company MB Elettronica from Cortona, Arezzo, have agreed to combine operations. The resulting entity will operate 16 factories across four continents, with MB Elettronica contributing four factories in Italy and approximately 500 employees.
The merger increases Scanfil’s workforce to over 4,500, with MB’s current employees continuing in their roles within the Scanfil Group. The companies’ complementary offerings and customer bases are expected to enable cross-selling opportunities. MB brings expertise and customer relationships in Aerospace & Defense, Healthcare & Medtech, and Transportation, with its Cortona headquarters designated as Scanfil’s competence center for Aerospace & Defense. The combined entity will provide manufacturing services in ten countries.
