Infineon Technologies AG’s Supervisory Board has appointed Alexander Gorski as Chief Operations Officer (COO) and member of the Management Board, effective October 1, 2025. Gorski will succeed Dr. Rutger Wijburg, who will retire on September 30, 2025, at his own request. Gorski’s appointment as COO is set for a three-year term, and he will oversee Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Quality Management.
Gorski currently serves as Executive Vice President and Head of Frontend Operations at Infineon. He joined the company in 1998 (then Siemens AG) after completing his MBA at the University of Regensburg. Over the years, he held various management roles in Operations, Supply Chain, and Sales. Gorski briefly left Infineon to serve as a board member and managing director at a solar company for seven years, returning in 2016 as COO of the Power & Sensor Systems division. He became Head of Backend in 2021 and Head of Frontend in 2024.
Wijburg, who has served as COO and Management Board member since April 2022, will step down after over 30 years in the semiconductor industry. He joined Infineon in 2018 as Managing Director of Infineon Technologies Dresden, later becoming Head of Frontend before assuming the COO role. During his tenure, Wijburg oversaw the establishment of a new high-volume production module in Kulim and the Smart Power Fab in Dresden.
