Tenstorrent Acquires Blue Cheetah Analog Design to Enhance Chiplet Interconnect Capabilities
Tenstorrent has acquired Blue Cheetah Analog Design, a start-up specializing in customized analog mixed-signal IP, the company announced today. Blue Cheetah has been a key vendor for Tenstorrent, providing advanced interconnects for its chiplet-based products. This acquisition follows Tenstorrent’s licensing of Blue Cheetah’s die-to-die interconnect IP last year for its AI and RISC-V chiplet solutions.
Blue Cheetah’s expertise in analog mixed-signal design strengthens Tenstorrent’s capabilities in developing interconnects and other components critical to AI system performance and efficiency. The acquisition supports Tenstorrent’s goal of building an open chiplet ecosystem with optimized interconnects for specific chiplet sockets.
Blue Cheetah’s leadership team, led by CEO and co-founder Dr. Elad Alon, an expert in analog/mixed-signal design and technical lead of the Bunch of Wires PHY standard, includes engineers with experience in traditional circuit design and design automation. The team has expertise in developing D2D, DDR, SerDes, and other technologies relevant to Tenstorrent’s chiplet and product plans.
