Edgecore Networks Integrates Morse Micro’s MM8108 SoC for Next-Generation Wi-Fi HaLow Solutions
Edgecore Networks, a provider of network solutions for enterprises, data centers, and telecommunication service providers, has expanded its partnership with Morse Micro by selecting the MM8108 Wi-Fi HaLow SoC for its next-generation connectivity solutions. The MM8108 will serve as the core component for Edgecore’s long-range, low-power IoT devices, focusing on Wi-Fi HaLow technology.
Edgecore previously introduced the EAP112, a Wi-Fi HaLow-enabled access point, in early 2024. The EAP112 integrates Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi HaLow, 4G LTE, BLE, Zigbee, and Thread, designed for outdoor and challenging environments. It has attracted interest from sectors including smart agriculture, building security, multi-dwelling units, hospitality, and manufacturing, with potential applications in warehousing, logistics, mining, and industrial settings due to Wi-Fi HaLow’s coverage and signal penetration capabilities.
To support these devices, Edgecore has updated its ecCLOUD platform for centralized remote management of Wi-Fi HaLow-enabled devices, such as cameras, door locks, and sensors, enabling efficient deployment and maintenance of IoT environments.
The MM8108 SoC, developed by Morse Micro, operates in the 850–950 MHz sub-1 GHz bands, complying with IEEE 802.11ah standards. It supports data rates up to 43.33 Mbps, includes an integrated high-efficiency powe...
