Rapidus Partners with Siemens for 2nm Semiconductor Design and Manufacturing
Rapidus, the newest advanced semiconductor foundry from Japan has announced a strategic collaboration with Siemens Digital Industries Software to advance semiconductor design and manufacturing processes for the 2nm generation. The partnership focuses on developing a process design kit based on Siemens’ Calibre platform, an industry-standard verification solution that supports accurate physical verification, manufacturing optimization, and reliability assessment from design to fabrication. This effort aims to strengthen Rapidus’ design and verification ecosystem.
The collaboration aligns with Rapidus’ manufacturing for design (MFD) concept, which targets high yield and short turnaround times from the early stages of production. Rapidus and Siemens EDA will also establish a reference flow that integrates design, verification, and manufacturing processes from front-end to back-end, supporting Rapidus’ Rapid and Unified Manufacturing Service (RUMS).
Mike Ellow, CEO of Siemens EDA, stated that the collaboration integrates Siemens’ EDA technology, including products like Calibre and Solido, into Rapidus’ manufacturing base to create a reference flow focused on reliability, speed, scalability, and safety.
Rapidus is working to integrate the entire foundry process, from design to manufacturing, while prioritizing secure design data ...
