A market research report from IoT analyst firm Berg Insight projects that the number of active two-wheeler OEM telematics systems will grow from 16.7 million in 2024 to 59.7 million by 2029, reflecting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 29.0 percent. The report covers motor-powered two-wheelers, including motorcycles, mopeds, and scooters. Key factors driving adoption include safety and security services such as emergency and roadside assistance and stolen vehicle tracking, alongside the rising popularity of electric two-wheelers, according to Martin Cederqvist, Senior Analyst at Berg Insight.
Aftermarket telematics solutions, primarily focused on stolen vehicle tracking and theft prevention, are already established. The number of active aftermarket two-wheeler telematics systems is expected to increase from 17.2 million in 2024 to 30.8 million by 2029, with a CAGR of 12.3 percent. The Asia-Pacific region leads in the number of active aftermarket systems, followed by regions including Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America.
