Imec announces 200mm Silicon Photonics platform availability and webinar

On June 24, 2025, at 5 PM CEST (11 AM EDT), imec will host a 1-hour webinar to discuss its 200mm silicon photonics platform, now accessible for prototyping and manufacturing advanced photonic integrated circuits (PICs) through IC-Link. The webinar, led by imec portfolio manager Leili Shiramin, will cover the platform’s current capabilities, including efforts to improve device performance and address failure mechanisms.
Shiramin will also share recent results and provide a preview of the platform’s roadmap, which includes developments in hybridized silicon photonics incorporating materials such as lithium niobate (LiNbO3) and III-V to enhance bandwidth density and energy efficiency.
Leili Shiramin earned her Ph.D. from the Photonics Research Group at Ghent University-imec in 2017, focusing on silicon photonics and silicon nitride photonics device design, fabrication, and characterization. Following industrial experience in photonics and RF domains, she joined imec in 2022 as portfolio manager for photonics technologies.
