Fujitsu General transfers its power modules biz to L&T Semiconductor and Kaynes Semicon
On June 9, 2025, Fujitsu General Limited announced that its board of directors approved the transfer of the power modules business of its consolidated subsidiary, Fujitsu General Electronics Limited (FGEL), to L&T Semiconductor Technologies Limited (LTSCT). The production facilities related to the business will be transferred to Kaynes Semicon Private Limited, a manufacturing contractor for LTSCT. The company expects to record an extraordinary gain of approximately 2 billion yen in the first consolidated fiscal quarter of 2025, ending March 31, 2026. This transfer supports enhanced collaboration between Japan and India, aligning with India's growing electronics and semiconductor industry.
The decision to transfer the power modules business aligns with Fujitsu General’s strategy to transform its Electronic Device Business portfolio to strengthen the group’s business foundations. FGEL, located in Ichinoseki, Iwate, Japan, focuses on developing, manufacturing, and selling electronic devices and manufacturing equipment for information and communications.
