Cyient Semiconductors and MIPS partner to develop RISC-V-based custom silicon solutions
Hyderabad-based Cyient Semiconductors Private Limited and MIPS, a global provider of RISC-V processor IP, have entered into a strategic partnership to develop domain-optimized ASIC and ASSP solutions. The collaboration utilizes the MIPS Atlas portfolio of processor IP to target real-time, safety-critical applications, power delivery, and compute efficiency for automotive, industrial, and data center markets. The partnership emphasizes motor control and data center power delivery, combining Cyient’s analog mixed-signal capabilities with MIPS Atlas CPU IP.
Suman Narayan, CEO of Cyient Semiconductors, stated that the collaboration integrates embedded intelligence and advanced power architectures into custom silicon platforms built on a scalable, open foundation. Sameer Wasson, CEO of MIPS, noted that the MIPS M8500 microcontrollers are suited for real-time compute workloads like power efficiency and motor control, enabling Cyient to develop differentiated ASIC and ASSP solutions tailored to customer needs.
