pSemi Corporation, a Murata company specializing in semiconductor integration and connectivity, announced the launch of its UltraCMOS+ RF silicon-on-insulator (SOI) platform. The platform builds on the UltraCMOS technology, incorporating advancements in power handling, linearity, isolation, RON, COFF, integrated intelligence, and portfolio expansion.
pSemi, the sole provider of advanced silicon-on-sapphire (SOS), developed UltraCMOS+ through a team of process engineers, IC designers, and software engineers. The platform includes proprietary semiconductor processes, product development kits (PDKs), simulation software, and specialized circuit techniques. Over the past decade, pSemi shifted from SOS to SOI, developing 16 generations of UltraCMOS to optimize performance for RF applications.
Rodd Novak, vice president of global sales, marketing, and system engineering at pSemi, stated that UltraCMOS+ has been utilized internally by Murata and is now being introduced to broader markets. pSemi will showcase the first UltraCMOS+ products at the International Microwave Symposium (IMS) from June 15–20, 2025, in San Francisco at booth #443.
