Ather Energy and Infineon Technologies collaborate to advance electric two-wheeler technology in India
Ather Energy, an Indian electric two-wheeler manufacturer, and Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific Pte Ltd, a semiconductor solutions provider, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Seoul, South Korea, to collaborate on advancing India’s electric vehicle (EV) industry. The partnership focuses on developing semiconductor technologies for light electric vehicles (LEVs), charging infrastructure, and safety systems.
The collaboration combines Infineon’s semiconductor solutions, including microcontrollers and automotive sensors, with Ather’s expertise in designing LEVs. The companies aim to create efficient, reliable, and cost-effective EV solutions to support the adoption of electric two-wheelers in India. The partnership will explore sensing and safety innovations to improve vehicle safety, user experience, energy efficiency, charging speed, and system reliability.
Swapnil Jain, Executive Director and CTO of Ather Energy, stated that the collaboration with Infineon provides access to advanced technologies to enhance key systems, including charging and safety, and reduce system complexity and cost.
