Tim McIntosh Joins Tata Electronics as VP, Head of TSAT

Tim McIntosh, a seasoned semiconductor industry veteran with 34 years of experience at Intel, is appointed as Vice President and Head of Operations for Tata Electronics owned Semiconductor Assembly and Test (TSAT) facility in Morigaon, Assam. McIntosh’s appointment marks a significant step in bolstering Tata’s ambitions in the global semiconductor market, leveraging his extensive expertise to drive manufacturing excellence at the new chip packaging plant.
In a post on Linkedin, McIntosh, who recently retired from Intel, described his tenure there as “a remarkable journey filled with challenges, growth, and countless opportunities to innovate.” Expressing gratitude for the relationships and achievements during his 34-year career, he emphasized that his move to Tata Electronics is “not the end of my career, but the beginning of an exciting new phase.” He aims to contribute significantly to Tata’s goal of establishing India as a key player in semiconductor assembly and testing.
Tata Electronics is actively recruiting experienced professionals, with hiring drives planned in Malaysia and Singapore to build a robust team for its Assam facility. The company’s focus on strengthening its TSAT capabilities underscores its commitment to advancing India’s semiconductor ecosystem.
