SEMI and Purdue university introduce AI and data analysis online courses for semiconductor industry

SEMI has partnered with Purdue University to launch a series of 10 online, self-paced courses focused on artificial intelligence (AI) and data analysis for the semiconductor industry. Available through the SEMI University platform, the courses aim to prepare professionals to apply AI and data-driven methods in the industry. Industry experts teach the courses, and participants receive a Purdue University certificate upon completing each module.
The course series includes Data Analytics for Decision Makers, covering pattern recognition, visualization, and AI basics with hands-on tool experience; Machine Learning in Action: Tools, Techniques, and Industrial Cases, teaching machine learning techniques through Python-based real-world examples; Manufacturing Analytics, providing tutorials on using machine learning for manufacturing data analysis; and Essential Math Tools for AI: A Practical Refresher, explaining mathematical concepts for AI with practical examples.
Shari Liss, SEMI’s Vice President of Global Workforce Development and Initiatives, stated that the courses address workforce needs amid growing semiconductor demand and the need for AI automation in operations.
