Emerson spotlights expansion of its NI test and measurement product line with new hardware and software solutions
The test engineers who are fans of National Instruments (NI) tools in virtual instrumentation and other test areas can cheer now, due to the focus Emerson is giving to NI's product portfolio. Emerson acquired NI in year 2023 and is giving impetus to grow NI part of its business.
At the recently held NI Connect conference, Emerson announced updates to its test and measurement portfolio where it has introduced new hardware, software enhancements, and expanded support for engineering communities to address increasing complexity in testing applications.

The company revealed the NI Nigel AI Advisor for NI LabVIEW and NI TestStand, set for release in July 2025. This cloud-based tool, integrated into existing licenses, analyzes code, suggests modifications, and enables plain-language queries to access over 700 functions. Additional LabVIEW updates include improved debugging for wires and probes, support for .NET 8.0 and Python 3.12, enhanced VI comparison, and Docker container connectivity. Emerson also introduced a broad base version of NI SystemLinkTM and third-party signal source support for NI InstrumentStudioTM via custom plugins.
