2% growth in India smart phone market in first-quarter of 2022

Market researcher Canalys reported smart phone vendors in India have shipped 38.0 million smartphones in first quarter of 2022, a 2% higher than first quarter of 2021. Lower growth is attributed to shortage of semiconductor chips and other electronic components in the market. Canalys said Xiaomi shipped highest among the all with 8 million device shipment. Samsung is second with 6.9 million units. The third-ranked realme shipped 6.0 million units with the growth of 40% year on year s.
