Vector and SCSK Corporation have developed a joint evaluation bundle for sensor and actuator applications based on Renesas RL78/F2x microcontrollers. The bundle combines Vector’s MICROSAR IO with SCSK’s QINeS-Lite platform and drivers to provide a pre-integrated software foundation.
The evaluation bundle targets developers evaluating or building embedded applications on resource-constrained microcontrollers. It supplies a ready-to-use software foundation that supports early evaluation activities with reduced setup and integration effort. Customers can request the MICROSAR IO Evaluation Bundle for Renesas RL78/F2x from Vector at www.vector.com/pr-bundle-microsar-io.

MICROSAR IO is a software platform developed for sensor and actuator applications on microcontrollers with limited hardware resources. QINeS-Lite is SCSK’s automotive software platform for small-scale ECUs. It supports edge ECU applications that require high-speed communication, over-the-air software updates, cybersecurity, and diagnostic capabilities.
The drivers supplied by SCSK are based on the open Chiisai specification and provide the hardware abstraction layer for the Renesas RL78/F2x platform that complements MICROSAR IO.
The joint offering supplies a development foundation for sensor and actuator applications on Renesas RL78/F2x microcontrollers. The cooperation supports software reusability and edge ECU solutions for Software-Defined Vehicle architectures. SCSK is a Japanese provider of IT services and automotive software solutions.
