Semiconductor Etch Leader Lam Research Opens 470,000-Square-Foot Livermore Hub for Chip Supply Chain and AI

Semiconductor equipment leader Lam Research has opened its largest U.S. warehouse, a 470,000-square-foot logistics and supply chain hub in Livermore, California. The facility is designed to strengthen the semiconductor supply chain and support demand for AI-enabled technologies. It improves Lam’s ability to move critical parts, absorb shifts in demand, and support customers with greater speed and predictability.

The facility covers more than 10 acres (4.4 hectares) under one roof, roughly the size of eight football fields and enough room to park 2,000 cars. Inventory retrieval times are 12 times faster than current systems. The warehouse centralizes Lam’s California logistics operations into one hub.

“This warehouse demonstrates Lam’s commitment to investing in the U.S. as part of our global operations strategy,” said Karthik Rammohan, Lam Senior VP of Global Operations and Enterprise Solutions, at the opening ceremony. “We have centralized Lam's California logistics operations into one hub so we can move faster, plan better, and respond to our customers with the speed and accuracy they expect. That is what resilient operations look like in practice, and that is what our customers need from us right now.”
