Silicon to Systems: What Semicon India 2026 Actually Taught the Industry

Beyond the individual company announcements, the fifth edition of Semicon India  told a bigger story in its numbers alone  an event that has nearly tripled in scale in two years, running alongside a policy shift its own organisers are calling the move from Semicon 1.0 to Semicon 2.0.

SEMICON India 2026, held from 17–19 September 2026 at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi under the theme Silicon to Systems: Building the Ecosystem, recorded 51,656 total registrations and cumulative footfall of about 40,000 across its three days  figures that dwarf even the previous edition's 35,000-plus registrations and 350-plus exhibitors from 18 countries. This year's event drew more than 600 exhibitors, including roughly 300 international participants from 52 countries, six country pavilions (Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, the Netherlands, Singapore and Sweden) and 12 state pavilions, alongside a dedicated Startup Pavilion, Workforce Development Zone, and Innovation Showcase & Student Hackathon. One industry leader present at the event put the growth in blunt terms, noting that exhibition booths had grown nearly threefold, from around 650 in 2024 to roughly 1,800 in 2026.
