Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced a strategic partnership with Porsche AG aimed at delivering AI services across Porsche's mobility value chain, backed by a five-year strategic deal from Porsche.
As part of the agreement, TCS will set up a dedicated AI Mobility Centre of Excellence for Porsche, aimed at driving innovation across manufacturing, engineering, operations, and customer experience. Additionally, TCS, through a subsidiary, will acquire 100% of MHP Management- und IT-Beratung GmbH (MHP), Porsche's Germany-based management and IT consulting subsidiary, though both the partnership and acquisition still require regulatory approval.
MHP brings substantial automotive and industrial consulting and implementation experience, with particular strengths in business transformation, AI, SAP systems, manufacturing digitalization, and connected mobility. TCS says MHP's track record delivering complex automotive and industrial transformation projects will complement its own global scale and engineering capabilities.
K. Krithivasan, CEO and managing director of Tata Consultancy Services, said TCS is pleased to partner with Porsche on its transformation journey, noting that as AI, software, and data reshape the automotive industry, the partnership brings together TCS's capabilities in AI, engineering, technology, and business transformation with MHP's automotive consulting expertise. He said the two companies will work to industrialize AI at scale for Porsche, accelerating innovation across its value chain to deliver intelligent, software-defined mobility experiences.
Dr. Michael Leiters, CEO of Porsche AG, said transferring MHP to Tata Consultancy Services represents another step in Porsche's strategy of focusing more sharply on its core business, while also gaining TCS as a strategic partner. He said combining Porsche's automotive expertise with TCS's digital technology and AI capabilities will strengthen the company's innovation, improve efficiency, and boost competitiveness in a mobility industry increasingly shaped by data and software.
The collaboration is structured around three core areas. First, TCS will scale AI execution and drive results for Porsche through its new AI Mobility Centre of Excellence, which will focus on industrializing AI use cases across several core mobility technologies, converting ideas into secure, scalable solutions meant to improve speed, operational resilience, and competitiveness across Porsche's products and value chain. TCS and Porsche will work together to embed AI into intelligent manufacturing and operations, engineering, and customer experience, combining Porsche's automotive engineering expertise and brand strength with TCS's capabilities in AI, product engineering, technology, and business transformation.
Second, TCS and Porsche aim to build a platform for long-term value creation, with TCS's expertise providing a foundation to scale AI transformation and deliver business results across Porsche's organization and broader mobility ecosystem, supported by the five-year strategic deal between the two companies.
Third, TCS, through its subsidiary, will acquire MHP, a firm with established automotive consulting and AI transformation expertise. This acquisition is expected to strengthen TCS's presence in the German market and among European automotive and industrial customers more broadly.
