ECMS: 106 Projects Approved with ₹69,548 Crore Investment, 38 Plants Operational and 16 in Advanced Stages

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has approved a total of 106 projects under the Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS). This includes 31 new proposals approved on 17 August 2026 with a projected investment of ₹6,844 crore, in addition to 75 earlier applications involving ₹61,671 crore. An additional investment of ₹1,033 crore by already approved applicant Wipro Global Engineering and Electronic Materials Private Limited for manufacturing of Laminate (Copper Clad) has also been approved. The total approved investment stands at ₹69,548 crore.

Of the 106 projects, 38 plants have commenced manufacturing. Another 16 projects are at advanced stages of construction or machinery installation. The projects are expected to generate 74,628 direct jobs and 2.5 lakh indirect employment opportunities. The 31 projects approved on 17 August 2026 alone are expected to create 9,588 direct jobs. Taken together, the current approvals entail investment of ₹7,877 crore, projected production of ₹82,243 crore and 9,588 direct employment opportunities.
