Sungrow ranks No. 1 in S&P Global's 2025 PV inverter shipment rankings

Sungrow, a global provider of solar inverters and energy storage systems, has once again been ranked the top PV inverter supplier by shipment volume in S&P Global's 2025 rankings. The company attributes this to sustained investment in technological innovation, global expansion, and customer-focused service.
 
On the technology side, Sungrow introduced what it describes as the world's first PowerMatrix Inverter at the SNEC 2026 trade show, presenting a new approach to how inverter systems are architected, aimed at improving efficiency, lowering costs, and increasing system stability across different use cases. The company also says it completed the first field-validated engineering solution addressing wide-frequency oscillation, a type of instability that can occur in power grids, positioning this as evidence of its ability to tackle emerging challenges tied to integrating larger amounts of renewable energy into modern power systems. Sungrow points to these developments as reflecting strong R&D capability, noting that roughly 40% of its workforce consists of technical professionals.
