SPARK Microsystems Expands European Distribution Network with Alcom Electronics

SPARK Microsystems, a Canadian fabless semiconductor company focused on next-generation short-range wireless communications, has expanded its distribution network in Northwest Europe by adding Alcom Electronics as a new partner. The move comes as demand grows for IoT connectivity and AI-grade, ultra-low-power wireless communication built on LE-UWB, SPARK's low-energy ultra-wideband technology.

Alcom Electronics is an established distributor and manufacturer's representative across the Benelux region, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg, handling sales, design support, and distribution. Under the partnership, Alcom will promote, distribute, and support SPARK's products in the region, while also providing local customer service and sales development.

Jocelyn Carroué, senior director of technical support at SPARK Microsystems, said the Benelux region is home to major global technology companies that have made it one of the world's leading hubs for tech innovation, and that Alcom Electronics has been a trusted partner in that community for nearly 50 years. He said SPARK already has a strong presence in Europe, and that Alcom strengthens it further at a time of surging demand for IoT and AI-grade, ultra-low-power connectivity enabled by LE-UWB technology.
